    week 41

dear ian , and friends  i am sure people like amy and me in our different ways should be thanking you

CHANGING LEARNING what we knew in 1984 without this 40 year map all sustainability goals are all greenwash? ; what we knew after sir fazle abed kindly commemorated dads life with 4 hour roundtable at japan embassy in dhaka

in case its not clear biggest news i have seen this year (or ever) happened in last 4 weeks:
2000 of 10000 most revolutionary people in education announced in qatar that un head guterres has invited anyone they influence to stage the mother of all learning summits at the un in september

if instead of big bankings schools for scoundrels there were schools for sustainability what would the top 10 transformations in schooling look like next?

    A) because WISE education laureates summit was founded round my fathers all time hero sir fazle abed :- schools for girls lift up half the sky are one of the top 10 education revolutions urgently worth every parents while

    B) because refugee learning matters to guterres and jinpings life work (guterres as refugees are whats he's always done; maps where borders cause risks of destroying the planet or china's neighbors are the meta reason for jinpings belt road summits) refugee learning is in the top 10 and can be used to ask technologists like ma what can you do in places that dont have teachers (dont even assume classroom are the safest space)

    c) because wherever more than 10+ radical "loveq" chinese educators meet - extraordinary tech conversations become the starting point - quite seriously the teachers assistant robot is going to blossom all over china faster than social bicycles and make both amazon's alexa and ibm watson look like social retards ... we need big data small wizards (friendships of these wizards between china and every locality coders code0  at every change education summit

so we have 9 months and ticking to agree a top 10 or top 5 and make sure leaders of each education change do not just appear at wise@UNGA but instead of pr campaigns their changes arrive as action learnt ng networks

there is a question of does anyone really believe we will get back to education sustainability in time if we dont get wise@UNGA on a suitable orbit

SO plan b seems to be to ask guterres to resign from un and kim to resign from world bank and get 3 main education belt corridors converging the top 10 list

corridor 1 is india china bangladesh myanmar asean - this is why even if eg the rich west doesnt believe in the urgency of WISE@UNGA challenge india and china do - and their refugee crisis to solve is bangladesh=myanmar which fortunately can be a lab for te best of ma and the best of sir fazle; deadline is modi on board with jinping on this in time for him to be re-elected early 2019

corridor 2 is the rich east ie china- korea and japan- this all depends on 2020 alibaba olympics living up to the education challenge ma has been talking up since january (this group in spite of past hatred of japan has to come together to solve n korea too) -moon jay-in gets this; i dont think japan's  abe does- truth is prince charles needs to get this story (reread the speech my father wrote for him on his prior state visit to japan)  and talk to the emperors family

corridor 3 is from china through the sats over to the middle east across to turkey jordan egypt- obviously the people who trust sheikha mosa most are the national leaders with both the worst refugee problems and the worst threats to peace

so assuming we fail to make a dent with wise@UNGA in new york sept 2018 its up to those 3 wise corridors as education's belt road would logically be the priorities for all of jinping new development banking partnerships while the 100 national leaders who now trust jinping ,most in the world (or at least want china rejuvenation dream to open up joy of all their youths dreams too) also need to benchmark how their hemisphere maps can learn from the solutions in these 3 prime corridors

of course we need facilitators and storytellers across generations- what i cheekily beg harrison and amy ro see their cross-culture intergen alumni networks need to linkin

of course there need to be many other collaboration debates but the simple thing is if learning doesnt have any hope of feeling like this in 2024 then anyone who has ever valued any of my fathers work knows we have overshot the likelihoods of sustaining 10 billion people, 7 billion people, maybe any people

exciting times to co-create; i wonder if jack ma's closest friends would agree; i wish wise@UNGA was having a rehearsal in hangzhou but oddly its not evident that is happening

chris  macrae washington dc   - wechat and whatsapp usa 240 316 8157 linkedin UNwomens
(a note for hi-trust brand experts - trump is exactly like new coke - its great for sustainability generation that every hi-trust national leader now wants to be jinpings number 1 friends; better yet if usa comes back to climate summits led by state governors who ant win-win trade not legislators quarelling over their own waste)

i will try to survey top 10 revolution wise@UNGA summit needs to linkin at rowp.tv edu and belt road mapping make it simpler for youth to thrive as sustainability generation but would love to know if anyone else has a blog or any open space that celebrates the same 9 moth priority

instead of a xmas card this year - here's a xmas story - hope its joyful enough for one and all; after 12 trips to bangladesh and 8 to beijing and 1 to changsha i am confident the network of this girls own story can grow and grow

the most famous english speaking womens health revolutionary is a graduate of wellesley and lives near oxford - ophelia dahl daughter of the storyteller roadh dahl (unless anyone wants to nominate a contender eg youth's eva vertes)

Ophelia Dahl's National Health Service | The New Yorker

“It was a very unmanufactured garden—very cobbled together, not unlike the house,” Ophelia Dahl, the second-youngest of the siblings, recalled recently. ..... At Harvard, Farmer met Jim Yong Kim, a young man from a family of South Korean immigrants, who, like him, was pursuing a Ph.D. in anthropology along with a ...

cant recall if at normans party at the economist you met all of :

chris granville roxana brother in law (wife nikki, daughter charlotte)
ian and jeff with whom i have worked on good media for 25 years at places like the 3 biggest ad agencies and the 3 biggest accounting factories pwc my employer for 5 yr, andersen which we got rid of and deloitte which yeah well...

1960s while some were racing to the moon...
entrepreneurial revolution's story of sustainable economies (ie human race survival) begins with girls health and so empowering girls to be half of 21st c wealth and health- from tokyo olympics on jack ma says he will move over  full time to that

ophelia triangularises the 2 maddest american public health servants paul farmer and jim kim when they all met at harvard and haiti - farmer was the craziest one having studied anthropology at duke university he decided he would apply anthropology to haiti and having got there decided the service the rural poorest needed there was health- so he commuted between haiti where he met ophelia and harvard where he took his health degree and he met jim kim a korean immigrant

having graduated by 1987 they set up Home | Partners In Health partners in last mile health- farmer also became head of infectious diseases at bostons brigham womens hospital and kim worked on connecting franciscan value (preferential option poor health care) with with global strategists at harvard and my fathers friend george soros

when kim started looking who in the world had preceded pih in bottom up health he found precisely 2 networks - one in bangladesh our great friend sir fazle abed and the other in china- china had killed 50 million rural people of starvation- so the 3 most interesting things of how communism was changed to conscious capitalism were:
women lift up half the sky
    barefoot doctors
rice science to make enough local food secure

chinas last decade of state only companies led in all three of these dynamics but sir fale abed invented even deeper solutions
he replicated the infant life saving rural rehydration across all villages which unicefs james grant partnered in
he contributed to the very poorest rice science
and he invented girls education so that girls became the majority of bangladesh developing economy

during 1976-1986 the diaspora chinese already the 3rd biggest financial network inward invested in chinese infrastructures (today belt roads and tech superhighways) and then miraculously in late 1980s tsinghua was turned into the world number 1 public service university

about a decade later sir fazle founded brac university and its flagship program became the james grant public health servants program which columbia university helps annually update

    today alibaba's research unit in tsinghua is led by a female barefoot doctor and she has sent one of her star graduates as this scholar to oxford- sir fazle abed has been asking this girl and amy at columbia uni to keep him informed of what to linkin next;

     my next question is
are we ready to share this story with sir keith peters and how do we put our next generations in the middle of whatever they want their friends networks to connect; as chris and his family know i made a big mistake linking yunus to glasgow in trying to start the free nursing college if i had understood sir fazle was the man life would have been very different what with both gordon brown and sir fazle being graduates of scottish universities; another question is thorkil has spent 15 years connecting every technologist who wants to help design new jobs education systems for families with autism; and ed has spent longer than anyone linking in learning to difficult places like south sudan and bangladesh- amy and ed host 60 minute open space every time anyone passes through columbia university - amy having been trained to host tese for any number of people from 3 to 5000 ; maurice is our youth at the vatican wondering why on earth we cant do more in jim kims dream that young professional women take over the world bank- the answer is 90% of old men still dominate the top floor of the world bank so kim has no chance of leading the girls education revolution but guterres has already mentally moved the un to tsinghua and qatar and bangladesh even if that story is embargoed until sept 2018

al and jayfus in baltimore are being watched over by pope francis and are only 45 minutes away from all of jim kims connections; baltimores health servant leana web is the gutsiest us health administrator- ending opioid addiction is the rich worlds equivalent of oral rehydration and ironically what china's great wall was built to protect itself from until it discovered girl empowering economics and health networking

happy christmas and ER 2018 chris
